Former Summerville Quarterback Dalton Saunders will be transferring to Charleston Southern next season he announced on Twitter Thursday afternoon.
"Officially a buccaneer! #CSU" Saunders tweeted.
"I choose CSU because its close to home, I wanted to further my education at a good Christian school, and they gave me a chance to play the game I love." Saunders told Live 5 News.
He spent last season playing at Greenville Tech, which is where he met current CSU WR coach Willy Korn who became a big part of Saunders going to the Bucs.
"When I found out he became a coach I sent him my highlight tape and asked him to show coach (Jamey) Chadwell and I got a call the next day."
Saunders was one of the most prolific passers in Green Wave history throwing for almost 6,000 yards and 54 touchdowns in 3 seasons from 2009-2011. He compiled a 29-10 record in his time as starter including 2 region championships.
