COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

The man on trial for killing his wife and best friend was escorted out of the courtroom Wednesday morning and taken to an area hospital after having an emotional outburst during testimony.

Brett Parker became overwhelmed and sobbed loudly during testimony from the Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Bradley Marcus about the autopsies of his wife Tammy Jo and friend Bryan Capnerhurst.

Judge DeAndrea Benjamin told the court they would pause for a lunch break shortly after Parker was taken from the courtroom.

Parker was seen being loaded onto an ambulance at the judicial center.

After the lunch break, Benjamin adjourned court for the day. It is unclear when testimony will continue.
