Police: Man arrested for groping woman, made obscene comment to girl

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - Investigators say a 31-year-old man arrested for groping a woman at a gas station in West Ashley is also accused of making an obscene comment to a 10-year-old girl in Walterboro.

The Walterboro Public Safety Department says Enrico Bryant Jr. of Lodge, SC is facing charges of third-degree assault and battery. According to authorities, the incident took place on April 16 at a Walgreens on 1326 N. Jefferies Blvd.

A police report states the victim was sitting in a car waiting for her mother to come back from the store when Bryant approached her and asked the girl if She wanted to see his genitals.

Witnesses told officers that Bryant had been in the pharmacy to drop off a prescription.

Bryant was arrested on May 14 by the Charleston Police Department for an incident on May 10 when Bryant allegedly groped a woman at a gas station and later hit her with his car while she was riding away on her bicycle.

Officers say the incident took place on May 10 around 1 a.m. at a Kangaroo gas station located at 1406 Savannah Hwy. According to court documents, Bryant grabbed the victim's buttocks while outside the gas station. When the victim confronted the suspect, he became defensive.

Police say as the victim left the gas station on her bicycle to go home, the suspect followed her in his car.

According to the victim, she heard the suspect's motor rev right before the vehicle hit her back tire, throwing her to the ground along Wantoot Boulevard. Police say she injured her left hand when she fell of the bike.

The report states the vehicle then stopped, turned around, and drove back towards Savannah Highway.
