MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - With summer weather moving into the Lowcountry, the U.S. Coast Guard is urging boaters to brush up on their boating safety tips at a free event on Saturday.
National Boating Safety Week will kick off with a free safety class on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park. Members of the Coast Guard, Coast Guard Auxiliary and other officials will be on hand conducting demonstrations and answer questions from those in attendance.
Nearly 20 maritime response vessels from various agencies will also be on site for the public to check out.
