GREENVILLE, SC -

Skylar Hunter showed a lot of emotion after getting his first and only out of the Bulldogs win over Western Carolina on Thursday earning the save in a 12-11 win. But it may have been the biggest save of his college career. It sent The Citadel to the SoCon semifinals and ended a streak of tough outings for the Hanahan grad.

"I've had a rough couple of weeks" Hunter said Friday. "but it felt really good to get the out. I just got a little too hyped (afterwards)."

"He's a power arm, you can't coach that." said Bulldogs Head Coach Fred Jordan. "He's got some fighting heart. He had a tough day the day before but he went out and threw 4 excellent pitches."

Hunter was coming off a blown save in the teams SoCon opener against Appalachian State. He gave up the game tying homer with 2 outs in the 9th inning. The coaching staff didn't care and they put him in again against Western. Hunter is thankful for that kind of confidence.

"it means a lot to me that they've shows faith in me because it's been a rough couple of weeks. I'm gonna do all I can to help them win games"
