Cops: 2x4 wielding suspect arrested for beating 51-year-old

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A man suspected of hitting a 51-year-old man in the face with a 2x4 as he was walking down the street has been arrested, according to jail records.

Tor Gregory, 21, was arrested Wednesday and charged with second degree assault and battery by mob.

According to an incident report, the victim was walking along Romney Street on Saturday around 5:30 p.m. when he heard the suspect call his name.

Police say the victim turned around to see Gregory and three other individuals.

The report states Gregory then hit the victim in the left eyebrow with a 2x4 and ran away.

The victim was taken to MUSC where a laceration above his left eye was closed with six staples, police say.
