Driver identified in fatal I-26 accident

LADSON, SC (WCSC) -

Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury has identified the victim involved in a fatal wreck on I-26 Tuesday morning.

Salisbury says 46-year-old Donald Coy of North Charleston died after running off the interstate and hitting a tree.

Highway Patrol says the single-vehicle accident happened near mile marker 201 near the Royle Road overpass around 2:45 a.m., Tuesday.

No one else was in the car.
