JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - A group of parents and teachers are calling on the public to help save the job of a James Island school computer teacher.
The Parent-Teacher Association for Harbor View Elementary is inviting supporters to attend Tuesday night's county-wide board meeting to help computer teacher Ms. Findlay keep her job. The meeting will take place downtown at 5:15 p.m.
According to a flyer released last week by the school's PTA, this is the meeting that will make or break their campaign to save the school's computer program and Findlay.
District Spokesman Jason Sakran says the decision to keep or let go of the teacher lies in the hands of the school's principal.
"It would be premature to say this teacher will not have a position next year," said Sakran.
The flyer states that although progress has been made, Tuesday's meeting is the most important yet and a massive showing is needed.
