Police investigating reported armed car theft in N. Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police are investigating a reported armed robbery and car theft which happened early Wednesday.

According to North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor, the victim told police he arrived at 2122 Commander Road just before 2:30 a.m. to meet a female.  The victim said he was told by the female beforehand that her brother would be out front to greet him.

The victim said he arrived and saw a man waiting by the driveway, who told him to walk to the back of the house.  The victim said he then got out of his vehicle and a few seconds later several other men came from behind the residence.

The suspects, one of whom was carrying a gun, made him lie down and take his clothes off, the victim said.

The victim said one suspect then got into his car and drove away, while the others also fled the area.

Pryor said the incident remains under investigation.
