Lowcountry native Shelby Rogers took the first set in her 2nd round match at the French Open on Wednesday, but 20th seed Carla Suarez Navarro came back to take the final two, eliminating Rogers with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 win.
Rogers started off strong thanks in large part to her serve. 85% of her 1st serves were in which led to 19 winners.
After the 1st set however, she wasn't as accurate. It culminated in the 3rd set that saw Rogers hit just 6 winners as opposed to 16 unforced errors.
This was the 2nd Grand Slam Tournament for Rogers who took part in the US Open in 2010. She picked up her first Grand Slam win on Sunday beating Irena Pavlovic in straight sets.
