5 small plane crashes in 24 hours

(WJLA/KIRO/CNN) – Five small plane crashes have happened within the past 24 hours across the country. Four people have died and seven others were injured.

Two separate planes crashed into residences in Virginia and Washington.

A small plane crashed into a house in Washington after taking off from California.

The Cessna 172 got caught in rough weather and came down into a house.

Nobody was home at the time of the crash, but authorities said the two men on board the plane suffered minor injuries.

Another airplane crashed into an apartment building in Herndon, VA.

Firefighters said no one was killed, but three people, two from inside the plane, and one from inside the building, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to KPHO, four people died and two others were injured after two planes collided in the air west of Anthem, AZ, Thursday morning.

Another small plane crashed in Linden, NJ.

There are no reports of injuries at this time but police believe two people were onboard at the time of the crash.

The FAA and NTSB are still working to determine to exact cause of the crashes.
