NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police say an 18-year-old who shot his 17-year-old brother in the lower back during an argument on Wednesday has turned himself in to authorities.
Desmond Lewis was arrested Thursday and charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife or firearm during a violent crime.
According to an incident report, police were called out to a home on Charlene Drive just after 10 a.m. after neighbors heard gunshots coming from the house.
Investigators say Lewis and his brother were having an argument. Lewis then pulled out a handgun and fired shots at his brother, hitting him once in the lower back. A family member took the victim to MUSC.
A total of four bullet casings were found outside the home, the report states.
Lewis was issued a $150,000 bond on the charges during a hearing Friday. He is being held at the Charleston County Detention Center.
