Police release photos of Summerville bank robber

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - The Summerville Police Department has released three photos of a man who robbed a bank on Dorchester Road Friday morning.

Captain Jon Rogers with the police department said the South Carolina Federal Credit Union at 9999 Dorchester Road was robbed around 9:15 a.m.  The suspect did not present a handgun, but told the bank teller he was armed, Rogers said.

He made off with an undetermined amount of cash.  No one was injured.

Bank officials say the bank will be closed until 1 p.m. Friday as they work with investigators.

The suspect is a black male standing approximately 5'6" tall and of average build.  He wore a camouflage shirt, a baseball hat, and sunglasses during the robbery.
