MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Just when you thought it was all over, road work in Mount Pleasant has started again.
Last week, construction began on a new roundabout in front of Longpoint subdivision on Longpoint Road at Needlerush Parkway.
Many of motorists use Longpoint Road to travel between the Mark Clark and Highway 17. But as you know, driving between the two major roads can be very frustrating.
The $1 million bonded project will be worked on around the clock, but the actual road work will be done in the evenings. Because Longpoint Road is a state road, SCDOT has certain lane closure restrictions.
Crews will direct traffic during the single lane closure and the speed limit will drop to 25 mph.
The majority of the work will be finished by the time school starts.
The entire roundabout on Longpoint Road at Needlerush Parkway should be finished by mid-September.
