CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Coroner's Office says foul play is not suspected in the death of man found inside his downtown apartment on Tuesday.
The coroner's office said the victim died from a single gunshot wound. They have identified the victim, but we will not be releasing the name as the death appears to be a suicide.
According to a police report, officers responded to Apartment B at 24 Morris Street around 3 p.m. for a welfare check after someone voiced concern over not hearing from the victim in several days.
Police arrived on scene and knocked on the door, but heard nothing from inside, so they entered through an unlocked window near the door.
Once inside, officers found the 28-year-old man lying on his right side face down on the floor in the kitchen of the residence, the report states.
No other details have been provided by police.
