LADSON, SC (WCSC) -
The two men arrested for allegedly serving alcohol without a proper license following a shooting at a Ladson club were granted roughly $1,000 bonds Thursday.
Charleston County sheriff's deputies arrested 33-year-old Dubois D. Scott and 38-year-old Chris L. Harris Wednesday and charged them with unlawful storage of alcohol in a business. Harris is the owner of the Game Room on Ladson Road, where the shooting took place, and Scott is a manager at the business.
Major Jim Brady with the sheriff's office says the charges stem from bottles of alcohol and liquor found inside the club following the shooting. Brady said the club does not have an ABC state-issued liquor license.
Both men were issued $1,062 bonds during a hearing Thursday.
Authorities say the shooting left one person hospitalized after a volley of gunshots were fired.
Charleston County sheriff's deputies responded to the club at 3:15 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. They arrived to find a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen inside the club, according to Major Jim Brady, sheriff's office spokesman. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Deputies on scene spoke with Scott, who told them the altercation started when a group of 8 or 9 people walked up to the door and asked how much it cost to get in. Scott said another group of 10 walked up to the door and an argument ensued.
Scott said he didn't know what the argument was about, but he said a number of shots were fired from people from both groups a short time later.
At least 22 bullet casings were found in the parking lot outside the club, according to Live 5 Reporter Alan Campbell. Several of those casings were found near the front door.
A vehicle in the parking lot also had damage from gunfire.
The sheriff's office has not identified any suspects, and the motive behind the shooting is under investigation.
This is the second shooting in Ladson this week, and the second shooting at the club in six months.
In January, authorities arrested Keith Alextruss Williams and Lincolnville and charged him with attempted murder in connection with a shooting at the club on Dec. 20. Authorities are still looking for two suspects in connection with that shooting.
