SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - A North Charleston man is accused of stabbing two men during a party in Summerville.
The Summerville Police department is looking for 37-year-old Remus Eugene Harper. On Saturday night, police responded to Woodward Boulevard near Jasmine Drive in reference to a fight.
When an officer arrived at 11:45 p.m., he saw the first victim, a 33-year-old man who appeared to have three stab wounds to his upper body, who was shouting and refusing to stay still.
As the officer attempted to talk to the victim, a witness approached him and said there was a second victim inside the house. The officer found the second victim, a 34-year-old man who had two puncture wounds on his left side, sitting at the dining room table.
The second victim said he was at a party and saw Harper approach the first victim and another man who were both in a verbal argument.
According to the second victim, Harper told the two men who were in an argument,"I'm gonna handle ya'll."
The second victim told officers he got in front of Harper, who he says was trying to attack the first victim. According to investigators, Harper then began swinging, got up and ran away.
The victims say they then realized they had received injuries from a knife.Officers say they found a knife with a broken blade and the remnants of the blade in the area of the incident.
A police report states after the fight ended, the suspect took off on foot with the victims chasing him.
A neighbor reported to police that a suspicious male had jumped into his backyard while he and his family were outside. The neighbor told the male that he had a gun and would shoot him if he did not leave his yard. Police say the male then jumped another fence.
Police say officers were also flagged down by a 26-year-old man who reported seeing a group of men chasing after a subject on Woodward Boulevard.
Another neighbor, a 34-year-old man, called police and told them he had heard a loud boom from outside his bedroom around 10:45 p.m. When the man looked outside, he saw a male subject hunched over in his backyard.
When the man went outside, he found the subject was gone, and found blood on his wooden fence.
