Police say they caught a North Charleston man selling heroin near Orange Grove Elementary School during an undercover operation.
According to Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis, 41-year-old Henry Coaxum Jr. was caught with a gram of heroin on Orange Grove Road. Coaxum was served with arrest warrants on Tuesday, according to Francis.
He was already on probation for possession of heroin, but is now also charged with distribution of heroin and distribution of a controlled substance within close proximity of a school.
Coaxum was issued a $75,000 bond Wednesday. He remained behind bars at the Charleston County Detention Center Thursday.
