Mother, son uninjured after several rounds fired into home

BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Investigators say a 40-year-old mother and her son were not injured after someone fired several gun shots into their home in Beaufort County.

At 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office responded to a home on Shiny Road for a report of shots fired.

The victim said she was on her bed when she heard gunshots entering her home. She then dropped to the floor and crawled out to find her son, who was in his room.

According to an incident report, the victims discovered numerous holes in the wall of the home's living room with several of the bullets striking a couch.

The victim's son, a 14-year-old boy, reported to police that he had recently been involved in a physical altercation with another boy, who made threats to shoot the victim.
