DANIEL ISLAND, SC -

Wando's Hannah Ross scored in extra time to help lead the South team to a 2-1 win over the North in the annual North-South Classic at Blackbaud Stadium on Sunday.

The South took the lead early in the 2nd half when Hilton Head's Kelsey Fitzhugh scored the first goal of the game on a header from a corner kick. It stayed 1-0 until the 77th minute when Elizabeth Oliver scored to tie the game at 1.

Ross' goal helped the South improve to 3-1-2 in the last 6 years of the event.

On the boys side, Academic Magnet's Jonathan Glenn had a goal for the South but it wouldn't be enough as they fell to the North for the first time since 2009, 3-1.

Victor Ramirez of Gaffney, Sam Moss of Wren and Nick Retter of Indian Land had the goals for the North team.
