7 displaced following N. Charleston duplex fire

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A Tuesday morning fire at a duplex in North Charleston has displaced seven people, according to officials.

Bianca Sancic with the North Charleston Fire Department says a duplex located in the 7600 block of East Oakridge Circle caught fire just before 11:30 a.m. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the back of the building.

Sancic says it took firefighter 10 minutes to get the fire under control.

The duplex was occupied by two families. The seven people living in the building were displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
