Man accused of threatening to kill witness appears in court

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say they have arrested a North Charleston man who threatened to kill a witness who is assisting police in an investigation.

The Charleston Police Department arrested 27-year-old Trevor Wilder on Wednesday and charged him with intimidation of a witness.

An affidavit states on Monday afternoon, Wilder approached the victim's cousin near a bus stop on Meeting and Mary streets and asked,"Where's your cousin at?"

According to court records, when the cousin said he did not know, Wilder lifted his shirt and revealed a gun.

Authorities say Wilder then said,"Tell your cousin when I catch him I'm gonna kill him."

The victim is currently assisting Charleston Police officers in an investigation.
