WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police have charged a 27-year-old man in connection with a rash of car break-ins in the Heron Reserve neighborhood of West Ashley.
Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis said 27-year-old Jerry Gardner Jr. was charged with six counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle and one count of property crime enhancement on Thursday.
Gardner was served the warrants at the Charleston County jail, where he is being held on an unrelated charge of receiving stolen goods, Francis added.
Investigators say Gardner stole stolen sunglasses, DJ lights, a taser, a cellular telephone charger and a silver and gold sword from vehicles parked along Eagles View Drive.
The thefts were reported early June 11. The investigation is ongoing.
