ClemsonInsider.com and Tigernet.com are reporting a person of interest has been named in the vandalism case of Howard's Rock at Clemson University.
Police have not released any information.
A news conference is planned for 2 p.m. to discuss more details.
The Clemson Insider is reporting "the person of interest in question is a minor, and the white truck shown in the videos released by the Clemson University Police Department last week is owned by the minor's father. The person of interest is from out of state."
According to a Clemson University police incident report, the vandalism was reported on June 3 by several Clemson employees.
When the officer responded, he found the plexiglass cover that protects the rock between games missing, and a large piece of the rock missing.
Police released video and still images of a pick-up connected to the vandalism.
The video shows the truck arriving and leaving the east side of Clemson Memorial Stadium on June 2.
The truck was spotted during the time period in which the rock was damaged, said officers.
