St. Stephen man dies after being ejected from car on Hwy 52

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A St. Stephen man was killed early Sunday after he was ejected from his car during wreck on Highway 52, authorities say.

Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury said 30-year-old Michael Governor was driving north on the highway about two miles north of St. Stephen when his sedan left the roadway and hit a ditch, causing the car to overturn.

Salisbury said Governor was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car.  He was pronounced dead at the scene around 4:20 a.m.

A passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Salisbury added.

Governor died from blunt force body trauma, according to the coroner.
