GEORGETOWN, SC (WCSC) - The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office arrested a 32-year-old man accused of child rape on Friday.
According to Carrie Cuthbertson, sheriff's office spokesperson, investigators arrested 32-year-old Leopold Esteban-Rodriguez and charged him with four counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
Deputies also arrested 25-year-old Jennifer Smith and charged her with unlawful neglect of a child.
Smith was issued a $10,000 bond and Esteban-Rodriguez was denied bond. He remains behind bars at the Georgetown County Detention Center.
Authorities said they began their investigation after the child's father reported a possible child rape.
No other details were released by authorities.
