James Island man accused of burglarizing downtown apartment

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A 53-year-old man is behind bars accused of burglarizing a downtown apartment on King Street early Monday morning.

The Charleston Police Department charged Kevin Frazier of James Island with first-degree burglary.

Police say the victim was sleeping when he was awakened by a man standing in front of him who was holding a pair of pants which contained the victim's wallet.

A police report states the suspect then dropped the victim's pants and took off.

The victim chased the suspect, called 911 and provided police with a description of the suspect.

The suspect was arrested on Coming Street near the Crosstown.

Police are continuing the investigation.
