MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - A man wanted in a carjacking death in Myrtle Beach last week has surrendered to police.
Capt. David Knipes says 24-year-old Swava Lamere McCrea of Myrtle Beach surrendered to officers Monday.
McCrea is charged with murder in the shooting death of 21-year-old Joshua Pyatt, who was found in his vehicle June 24. His body was found by police inside his blue Nissan Altima, parked at the Westwind Apartment Complex.
A funeral for Pyatt was held June 29 at St. John AME Church in Pawleys Island.
McCrea also is charged with carjacking, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a pistol.
Knipes says more arrests are expected.
Witnesses told police that Pyatt was in his car when they heard four gunshots and saw a man get into the car and drive away.
It was not clear if McCrea has an attorney.
