BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office says one man was injured after someone fired multiple gunshots into a car in Wando.

Investigators were called out to the Kangaroo Express on 1971 Clements Ferry Road regarding a shooting victim Monday night.

A 40-year-old woman told deputies she was driving down the road and saw a 26-year-old man walking from Cainhoy Road towards the Kangaroo Express.

The woman said the man got in her car and told her,"I'm dying. Those boys got me."

Responding officers reported that the man was shot in the back.

The woman then drove the man to Kangaroo and called 911.

Deputies say they found a car in the area of Clements Ferry Road at Cainhoy Road which had been secured by officers from the Charleston Police Department. Authorities say the vehicle, a white 2012 Chevy Equinox, had multiple gunshots in the body and through the windows.

The victim was taken to MUSC and released.

Investigators say the shooting appeared to be drug-related.  They also said the victim was not cooperating with their investigation.
