Deputies: Second suspect arrested in 'vicious' 2012 armed robbery

ORANGEBURG, SC (WCSC) - Orangeburg County deputies say they have arrested the second suspect involved in a November 2012 armed robbery that left one man brutally beaten.

Dontraig Kyrell Jenkins, 21, has been charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and assault and battery first degree.

Deputies say Jenkins, along with Jervae Jermaine Amous, robbed, shot, and viciously beat a 27-year-old victim on November 17 around 9:15 p.m. The incident took place in a wooded area in Holly Hill in front of agents from the Department of Natural Resources.

According to a release, the victim received cuts, bruises, a broken nose, and was shot several times during the robbery.

The suspects stole drugs from the victim, deputies say.

Amous was arrested on December 3 and charged with kidnapping, weapons, and assault charges. He is being held at the Orangeburg Calhoun Regional Detention Center.

Jenkins' bond was set at $125,000.
