Police arrest man in King St. Grocery armed robbery

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police have charged one man with the armed robbery at King Street Grocery early last month.

Charleston Police Department investigators charged 25-year-old Christopher Rickenbacker with armed robbery on Wednesday afternoon.

Police say Rickenbacker and another unidentified man held up the store on June 5 around 8:30 p.m.  Officers say the other suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the clerk, who handed over $500 in cash.

Investigators say Rickenbacker admitted to being there during the robbery.

Rickenbacker was issued a $50,000 bond on Thursday.  He has a prior arrest for strong-armed robbery.
