SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - A complaint of prostitution in a Summerville hotel room led police to the discovery of a meth lab, officials say.

Holly Mahon, 39, and Zachary Kerr, 25, were both arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine. Kerr was also charged with simple possession of marijuana.

According to an incident report, Summerville police received a complaint for prostitution just after 7 p.m. on Thursday in Room 403 at the Economy Inn on Holiday Drive.

Police say Mahon, Kerr, and two others were in the room.

The report states officers arrested Kerr after he was found sitting next to a bag of marijuana. He later admitted the 2.2 grams of marijuana belonged to him.

During a search of the room, officers say they found materials used to manufacture methamphetamine in the bathroom and on a sink outside the bathroom.

Kerr told police he was using one of the ingredients, a pack of pseudoephedrine pills, to treat a cold. Officers say Kerr did not show any cold symptoms.

Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Berkeley County Detention Center.
