Northwestern's Lauren Watts scored in stoppage time to help South Carolina earn a 3-3 tie against the North Carolina girls in the annual Clash of the Carolina's at Blackbaud Stadium on Saturday.

The tie is the first in the series between the two teams. The Tar Heels still hold the all-time advantage at 5-1-1.

North Carolina's Christina Gibbons started the scoring with 2 goals thirteen minutes apart to give them a 2-0 lead.

Hilton Head Island's Faith Lifer would get SC to within 1 with her goal just a few seconds later making it 2-1 at the half.

After NC made it 3-1, the Sandlappers would come back thanks to MVP Megan Robertson from Woodruff. She'd score in the 72nd minute to make it a 3-2 game, then had the assist to Watts on the game tying goal.

On the boys side, Gary O'Neill and Aaron Sparks had goals to give North Carolina a 2-0 win. It's the 3rd straight victory in the series for the Tar Heels who are now 3-1-3 all-time against South Carolina.
