Police investigating over a dozen vehicle break-ins in Beaufort

BEAUFORT, SC (WCSC) - The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office says that they are investigating a string of vehicle break-ins that occurred in a Beaufort neighborhood this weekend.

According to police, more than a dozen vehicles that were parked overnight in the Shell Point area were reported to be broken into on Sunday morning.

The police believe that all of these vehicles were left unlocked by their owners, as there was no visible damage.

According to the Sheriff's Office news release, small electronics, cash, wallets and a handgun were reported stolen.

The police currently do not have any information on possible suspects, but they are encouraging Beaufort residents to remove any valuable items from their vehicles and keep doors locked.
