NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Police say the man who rammed the Remount Business Park Tuesday morning was suffering a diabetic episode and will not face charges in the incident.

North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor said the driver who crashed into the building at 1141 Remount Road was treated for a medical condition and released.

Around 5:52 a.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a CGI building on 1101 Remount in reference to an alarm going off. When officers arrived they saw damage to the side of the building and front entrance.

Authorities reported finding tire tracks leading from the building across the lawn. Investigators say they also discovered damage on the side of a Science Applications International Corporation building on 1141 Remount Rd.

A police report states the buildings' damages total $200,000.

As police were responding to the incident, officers received another call regarding a truck with heavy damage on North Rhett Avenue. According to police, the truck was involved in the incident.

Officers found the driver who was suffering from a diabetic seizure. EMS responded, and the driver was released following a medical evaluation.

Three people who work at the park told our photographer the driver hit three different buildings, with the most damage occurring to the SAIC and CGI buildings.

The careening vehicle also uprooted some trees, cracked and bent a light post, and mowed down some office chairs and desks, according to the employees.  Those employees said they were told the man was apparently suffering a diabetic attack when he lost control of the vehicle.

Earlier Tuesday, a SAIC employee said police and firefighters responded to the scene.  That employee also said the man rammed the building several times and that he was arrested.

No other injuries were reported from the scene.
