First reading of proposed hotel at Mt. Pleasant Towne Centre passes

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - The first reading for a proposed hotel at the Mount Pleasant Towne Centre passed Tuesday night at town council.

The proposal includes the 100 room hotel, a roundabout with access to Lowes and Belk, two improved bus stops and 6,100 ft. of increased retail space for Belk.

The development and planning department was asked by the town centre to design and come up with a plan to add more retail space for Belk and add a new hotel.

The first phase of the project, which adds more retail space for Belk, would expected to be completed in time for the holiday season.
