WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - United States Marshals have arrested a man authorities say broke into his children's mother's home and threatened to kill her earlier this year.
Charleston County Sheriff's Major Jim Brady said a task force arrested 37-year-old Robert Willis Farrington on Wednesday around 10 a.m. He is charged third-degree criminal domestic violence, criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, third-degree assault and battery, first-degree burglary, kidnapping, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Deputies had been looking for Farrington since mid-June, a few days after the investigation began.
According to court documents, investigators responded to the 30-year-old victim's Christian Road home on June 8 after receiving reports of a disturbance. When they arrived, the victim told them about an incident that took place that day on Folly Beach between her and Farrington, the father of her three young children.
Investigators did not say much about what happened on the beach, but the victim brought up an attack that happened back in February. She said sometime during the last week of February, the gun-toting Farrington broke into her home and threatened to kill her.
She said Farrington told her, "I'm going to put a bullet in your head, (expletive)." She said Farrington then held her against her will before releasing her after she promised to call his mother.
The woman told investigators she did not report the incident at the time because she was too scared.
The children were not home at the time of the attack, according to an incident report. The victim told deputies her and Farrington had been split up for about five years.
Farrington is being held in the Charleston County Detention Center.
