Nearly $10,000 in fireworks stolen from storage container

JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) -

Charleston County deputies are searching for suspects who they say stole nearly $10,000 worth of fireworks from a connex container earlier this month.

According to an incident report, authorities were called out to Herbie's Fire Works located at 3881 Savannah Highway on July 2 around 8 a.m.

Authorities say the locks on a white connex container appeared to be grinded off with an electric grinder. The container was already open by the time an employee arrived to work at 6 a.m.

The report states security footage captured three suspects breaking into the container between the hours of 3:30 a.m. and 5 a.m.
