ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Deputies searching for a fugitive say they discovered drugs and stolen guns at an Orangeburg home on Tuesday.
The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office charged 25-year-old Roland Leon Miley of Orangeburg with drug trafficking and weapon charges following a search of his home on Tuesday.
Deputies had responded to a home on Luke Street on Tuesday attempting to locate a fugitive. Authorities say Miley gave consent for the sheriff's office to come into his home and search for a fugitive.
Investigators say when they went into the home, they immediately detected a strong odor of marijuana, and saw tightly wrapped packages of white powder.
An incident report states authorities located marijuana throughout the house in coolers, shoe boxes, under a bed and closets. Additionally, the sheriff's office says white powdery substances were located in the washing machine, a floor vent and in the toilet.
According to investigators, stolen guns were also recovered.
"It goes without saying that the methodical measures Miley put in place to run his illegal drug dealing business could have been the start of a legal packing and shipping business," Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said." Yet, he chose to commit to criminal activities instead of a more productive line of work. To the residents of Orangeburg County, we will continue our investigations and countermeasures to take our communities back from criminals."
Miley's bond was set at $41,000.
