CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A feisty 20-year-old woman had to be carried out of a downtown restaurant by Charleston police Wednesday night after she allegedly became violent with a manager and punched out a window at the restaurant.
Desarea Jackson was arrested and charged with damage to real property, public disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.
Police say they were called to Fleet Landing Wednesday around 6 p.m. after a woman became unruly in the restaurant. Officers found the suspect kicking and screaming expletives while being held on the ground by the manager and others.
According to an incident report, Jackson arrived at the restaurant and requested to speak to the manager. After getting violent with the manager she was asked to leave, but not before punching out a $1,000 window at the front of the restaurant.
The manager, a kitchen employee, and bystanders then attempted to get the raging suspect under control as she continued to throw punches, the report states.
Police say Jackson went to the restaurant to speak with not only the manager, but the kitchen employee who she has had issues with. Jackson claims the employee damaged property at her downtown home the previous night.
Officers say they had to carry the suspect out of Fleets Landing because she was combative and refused to cooperate. She was transported to the Charleston County Detention Center.
