CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Work is set to begin Monday on new storm drains and sidewalks along Wappoo Road.
Charleston County Government announced the construction day Thursday. Crews will perform the majority of the work during off-peak hours, and only one lane of traffic can be closed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The work will include replacing the failing storm drainage system and sidewalk that runs along Wappoo Road from Savannah Highway to Skinner Avenue.
Officials say the construction should be completed by November of this year.
