SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) -

Summerville police are looking for a suspect after a Carolina Payday Loans employee was held at gunpoint and robbed on Monday.

According to a police report, officers responded to the business at 320 Old Trolley Road just before noon after receiving calls about a robbery.  When they arrived, the employee said a large man had just walked into the store waving a gun.

The woman said she opened the register as the man came behind the counter and pointed the gun at her head.  After taking money from the register, the woman said he began screaming "give me the rest of the cash!"  When she told him there was no more cash, he screamed at her to open the safe in the back.

The employee said he forced her to the back of the store at gunpoint and left after she retrieved the cash box from the safe.

Police described the suspect as a black male standing about 6'1" weighing about 200 pounds, appearing to be in his 20s or 30s.  He was reportedly wearing a red shirt, black pants, a black hat, and a dark bandanna covering the lower half of his face.

The employee said the suspect had a very deep voice.

If you have any information regarding the robbery, call police at (843) 871-2463.
