Two wrecks snarled eastbound traffic on Interstate 26 for miles on Wednesday morning.
The first accident involving a truck and a PT Cruiser happened near the Ashley Phosphate Road exit a little before 7 a.m., and closed two left lanes. A truck was pinned up against the median wall.
At one point, traffic was backed up to Highway 17-A, and traffic on the on-ramp to I-26 from Highway 78 was also congested.
The wreck was cleared about an hour later, but around the same time, another collision near Highway 78, at mile marker 201, closed the right eastbound lane and also contributed to delays.
