BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol says a Berkeley County sheriff's deputy was at fault in a wreck in the Francis Marion Forest Thursday morning.
According to Berkeley County EMS Director Bob Mixter, the wreck happened at Irishtown Road and Highway 41.
SCHP officials say the deputy failed to yield the right of way to a tractor trailer as the vehicle was attempting pass the deputy in the passing lane.
The Highway Patrol says no charges were filed.
Sheriff's office spokesman Dan Moon confirmed the deputy in the accident was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries after being involved in the wreck around 11 a.m.
He will be kept overnight for observation, Moon said.
