Tropical Storm Dorian continues to weaken, expected to become depression

MIAMI (AP/WCSC) - Live 5 Meteorologist Bill Walsh says Tropical Storm Dorian is continuing to weaken and is expected to become a depression by Sunday.

Dorian became a little less organized earlier on Friday, tearing itself apart as it moved in a westward direction.

Meteorologists said even if Dorian even made it to the weekend, tracks show it moving into portions of the Caribbean on Monday.

The storm's maximum sustained winds early Friday are near 50 mph and the U.S. National Hurricane Center says the storm is expected to begin slowly weakening over the next day or so.
Dorian is centered about 1,425 miles (2,290 kilometers) east of the northern Leeward Islands and is moving west-northwest near 20 mph (32 kph).
