JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Nine motorists were charged with driving under the influence last weekend at a license checkpoint on Folly Road, authorities say.
Major Jim Brady with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office said nine were charged with DUI, while 32 other motorists were issued citations.
Twelve drivers were given written warnings, according to Brady.
The traffic stop was held near Sol Legare Road from 11 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday.
Deputies were joined by members of the Charleston Police Department, Folly Beach Public Safety, and South Carolina Highway Patrol.
