NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A Summerville teen was cited for driving too fast for conditions after authorities say she struck a motorcyclist who was standing on the side of the roadway next to his bike.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the accident happened at 3:05 p.m. on Interstate 26 at the Ashley Phosphate exit.
According to authorities, the 18-year-old driver of an SUV was traveling too fast for conditions, lost control of her vehicle which struck a concrete wall, then spun around and struck a motorcyclist, who was standing next to his bike.
The motorcyclist, a 47-year-old man from Ladson, was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina.
Troopers say the motorcyclist's bike was also struck by the SUV.
