GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) -

Officials say two sewage overflows have been reported at two pump stations in Goose Creek.

According to Johanna Cooper, spokesperson for Berkeley County Water & Sanitation, stations at 441 Liberty Hall Road and at 731 St. James Avenue experienced minor overflows.

Cooper said crews are working to correct the system and signs are being posted in the affected areas to notify residents of the overflow. DHEC officials have also been notified and upon correction, the areas will be disinfected and deodorized.

Residents are asked to please avoid any standing water in these areas as a safety precaution.
