NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The woman driving the SUV which collided with a motorcyclist on Interstate 526 Tuesday night, ejecting and killing the man, has been cited for the incident, authorities say.
According to the North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor, the Moncks Corner woman was cited for improper lane change in the incident which resulted in the death of 37-year-old Jason Cray, of Ladson.
The Charleston County Coroner's Office said Cray died from blunt force trauma.
Officers responded to the wreck at 7:30 p.m. in the area of I-526 eastbound and the Leeds Avenue exit.
Pryor said an SUV collided with a motorcycle, ejecting Cray from the bike. He was transported to MUSC where he later died from his injuries, according to Pryor.
The driver of the SUV was transported to St. Francis Hospital.
Two eastbound lanes and one westbound lane were closed while authorities investigated and cleared the scene.
