CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A Charleston woman was caught driving drunk on Interstate 26 with an open container of alcohol and a minor in the car, authorities say.
South Carolina Highway Patrol set up a safety checkpoint on the westbound I-26 off-ramp to Cosgrove Avenue early Wednesday morning. Troopers say 31-year-old Teria Wilson, of upper Meeting Street, was stopped just before 1 a.m.
During the stop, troopers charged her with driving under the influence, child endangerment, and open container.
Wilson was taken to the Charleston County Detention Center and the minor was released to another guardian, troopers said.
Wilson was issued a bond of $1,759.50 on the charges.
